Any issues upgrading to Wordpress 2.8.2?

I am currently using Wordpress 2.6.2 and using the Connections Reloaded Theme. I want to upgrade to 2.8.2 but I first wanted to check that no one had any theme problems when they upgraded?

The theme in its normal form should work with 2.8.2

Should it work in 2.8.4?
Someone just sent me an email saying earlier versions of wordpress are likely to catch a worm so can i upgrade to 2.8.4 without problems?
